How payment, billing and refunds work

This page explains how students pay for Arrival Academy, how access codes work, how refunds are handled, and how education agents are billed. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). For the prices themselves see the pricing guide.
Buying directly from us
On the website you pay securely online, set your password and start straight away. It is a one-off payment with lifetime access to your course. The pricing guide lists every course and plan.
Buying through an education agent
- Your payment arrangement is with the agent, not with us. The agent gives you a single-use access code.
- Redeem the code at arrivalacademy.com/redeem to create your account and start the course.
- A code enrols one person in one programme and cannot be transferred. It expires 12 months after it is issued if it has not been redeemed.
Refunds
- Bought directly from us: you have 14 days to cancel for a full refund, as long as you have not yet redeemed your code or started the course.
- Once you redeem your code and begin the course, the 14-day cancellation right ends, because the course is digital content you can access immediately.
- Bought through an agent: the refund of what you paid is arranged with the agent.
- If the service is faulty or not as described, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

For education agents: how billing works
Agents can sell in two ways, and the agent's share is the same either way. Apply to become a partner.
- By code. The agent takes the payment from the student, generates a code in the agent portal and gives it to the student. On the UK courses the agent price is £299, the agent keeps £133, and we invoice the remaining £166 once a month.
- By link. The agent sends their personal sales link. The student pays us online and gets instant access, and the agent's share is credited automatically and paid out to their bank.
- Fixed price: the sale price is the same for every agent and agents cannot mark it up, so families can trust it.
- The wholesale rate for an agency is set when it is approved and shown in its portal. Figures differ for courses outside the UK.
- Billing is by calendar month in UK time (Europe/London): a code is billed in the month it is generated.
- Voiding: an active, unredeemed code can be cancelled at no charge within 48 hours of generation.
- Rate changes never reach back: each code keeps the terms it was issued at.
Net partner revenue means the amount received after refunds, chargebacks, applicable VAT or other indirect taxes, and payment-processing charges. The exact partner payment may vary according to the customer's location, payment method and transaction outcome.
Questions
When is an agent billed for a code?
A code is billed in the calendar month in which the agent generates it, using UK time (Europe/London). The billable event is generating the code, not the student redeeming it. The agent portal shows the running total and there is one invoice a month.
Can an agent cancel a code?
Yes. An active, unredeemed code can be voided at no charge within 48 hours of being generated, for example if a deal falls through. After 48 hours, or once the student has redeemed it, the code counts toward the monthly invoice.
Can the price or an agent's share change?
The sale price and the agent's share are fixed and do not change without the agent's agreement. Each code keeps the terms it was issued at, so a later change never affects codes that already exist.

Who refunds a student who bought through an agent?
The agent. The student's payment was made to the agent, so any refund of what they paid is arranged with the agent. The rules on when course access can be cancelled still apply.
